Tank and Line Tightness Testing

BLE professionals can perform tank and line tightness testing of the entire underground storage tank (UST) system to ensure tightness and the absence of leaks. Not only can leaking equipment create performance issues, they can also create environmental hazards and financial strain for a business.

Our technicians are Petro-Tite and ALERT certified to perform testing on a variety of storage tank systems.

When testing tanks, we utilize the Underfill testing system, allowing us to test tanks up to 72,000 gallons, as well as the Ullage system, for testing tanks up to 30,000 gallons with either pressure or vacuum (both the wet and dry portions of the UST).

When testing lines and leak detectors, we utilize the Petro-Tite line tester, a hydrostatic precision pipeline testing system. This system allows our technicians to achieve volumetric results in 30 minutes - creating less downtime for you and your clients.

We stay current on changing federal, state and local regulations, as well as industry trends to provide you with the most efficient, cost-effective solutions that keep you in compliance.

Water Removal and Fuel Polishing

Fuel contamination can be caused by water, sediment, or sludge build up. Routine maintenance is essential to ensure that fuel tanks operate efficiently, and are free of contamination. Our environmental team provides maintenance for fuel tanks with fuel polishing and water removal.

Water Removal

Underground Storage Tank (UST) systems commonly take on rainwater and groundwater, setting off high water alarms and compromising the quality of your fuel. By using our high powered Blackmer Suction Pump system, we can remove the water out of your USTs without disruption to your normal operations and get the facility dispensing normally again.

While onsite, our UST technicians are trained to identify possible surface water intrusion points through visual inspection, as well as provide options for associated corrective actions.

Benefits

  • Extended fuel tank life
  • Increased functionality of pumps and ATGs
  • Fuel system can continue to operate during process
  • Limits liability

Fuel Polishing

Fuel polishing is the process of removing contaminants from the fuel in the USTs. Fuel polishing consists of removing water, microbial particles, and sludge are removed from the fuel by passing through a series of micron filters. This process allows us to restore the contaminated fuel to clean, usable fuel.

The fuel is tested for both suspended and separated free water and microbial growth both before and after the filtration process to ensure its effectiveness.

Benefits

  • Extended fuel tank life
  • Increased functionality of pumps and ATGs
  • Removes rust and microbial growth
  • Less expensive than replacing fuel
  • Fuel system can continue to operate during process
  • Limits liability
