Columbia, SC – BLE provided geotechnical and materials testing services for The Standard, a $80 million, 442,000‑square‑foot, 17‑story student housing complex developed for University of South Carolina students. The project included 247 residential units (678 beds) and a range of resident amenities.
BLE’s scope covered geotechnical support plus construction materials testing and special inspections for soils, concrete, masonry, and structural steel. BLE performed post‑tension stressing on each level and conducted the testing and inspections required to confirm proper installation and performance of critical structural components.
BLE delivered complete testing records and inspection documentation to verify conformance with project specifications and applicable standards, supporting the contractor and owner with the technical verification needed for safe, code‑compliant project completion.
