Simpsonville, SC – BLE provided comprehensive environmental, geotechnical, and construction materials testing services for the City of Simpsonville’s new Municipal Complex, which comprised a 27,140 SF City Hall and Police Department, a 13,230 SF Summary and Municipal Court building, and a 19,145 SF Fire Department Headquarters.
Our environmental scope began with asbestos surveys and progressed to project design support, air monitoring, and abatement oversight to verify compliance with regulatory and safety requirements during demolition and construction.
Geotechnical services included subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, and engineering analyses that produced foundation recommendations (bearing capacities and settlement estimates) tailored to each building. During construction we monitored soil compaction and earthwork to confirm foundation support matched design assumptions.
The construction materials testing team performed concrete, soil, and asphalt testing—compressive strength testing, proctor testing, and asphalt density testing—to verify material conformance with project specifications. BLE’s integrated, multidisciplinary approach provided the technical verification and documentation needed to support the project’s quality and long‑term performance.
