Richland County School District

Columbia, SC – BLE played a key role in delivering geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing (CMT), and special inspection services for several schools within Richland County School District Two, including Bethel-Hanberry, L.W. Condor Arts Integrated Magnet, Pontiac, and Killian Elementary Schools, as well as Blythewood High School.

For these projects, BLE delivered both Chapter 1 and Chapter 17 inspection services throughout the entire project lifecycle—from foundation testing through project completion. Chapter 1 inspections were conducted by BLE’s local building officials and included thorough evaluations of structural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and standards. Chapter 17 services encompassed specialized inspections performed by BLE’s certified special inspectors, covering critical construction elements such as steel, concrete, masonry, and fireproofing. This dual approach ensured that all aspects of construction met the highest standards of quality and safety.

BLE’s integrated geotechnical and material testing expertise, combined with our certified inspection capabilities, enabled us to deliver reliable, code-compliant services that contributed to the successful completion of these educational facilities. Our involvement reinforced the district’s dedication to safety, security, academics, and arts/athletics by providing rigorous quality assurance and compliance, helping to create safe, functional, and high-quality learning environments that meet the district’s goals.
