Greenville, SC – BLE provided construction materials inspection and construction engineering services for the I‑85/I‑385 interchange, a $231 million SCDOT project to improve safety and traffic flow in Upstate South Carolina. The work included roadway widening, other road improvements, and construction of ten new bridge structures. BLE staffed five inspectors who performed foundation and backfill inspections for mechanically stabilized earth walls, storm drainpipe installation and backfill inspection, concrete inspection for foundations and barrier walls, and roadway embankment soil testing for stability.
BLE’s inspections ensured compliance with SCDOT specifications, supported quality control and schedule adherence, and contributed to the delivery of a durable, safe interchange that meets the region’s long‑term needs.
