Asheville, NC – BLE conducted a geotechnical investigation and provided geostructural design services for a slope failure at 40 McCormick Place, Asheville, NC, caused by heavy rains associated with Hurricane Helene.
The investigation included soil test borings and laboratory testing to assess site conditions. BLE prepared a data report documenting field test procedures and results, surface features, subsurface profiles, and conceptual repair options. Following owner review and selection, BLE designed a soil nail wall to retain the slope. BLE is also contracted to provide Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection services during construction, scheduled to begin later in 2026.
