Anderson, SC – Bunnell-Lammons Engineering provided Quality Assurance testing and inspection services for the Runway 17-35 Reconstruction Project at Anderson Regional Airport in Anderson, South Carolina. BLE served as the Geotechnical Engineer of record and delivered comprehensive construction materials testing throughout all phases of runway reconstruction.
BLE performed quality assurance testing and inspection services across three construction phases: asphalt pavement (content, gradation, density, and core testing), full-depth reclamation (mixing observation, gradation and density testing), and subgrade/excavation (proofrolling and field density testing). Daily testing and reporting ensured all materials met project specifications throughout construction. Additionally, laboratory testing was performed by BLE’s AASHTO-accredited materials laboratory, ensuring prompt turnaround on all concrete, soil, stone, and asphalt tests.
BLE implemented a comprehensive quality assurance program with a dedicated Project Manager overseeing day-to-day activities and a Principal Engineer responsible for technical quality and final authority on all work.Daily reports and concrete test results were emailed to the project team, with immediate notification of any specification non-compliance.
