Jeff Helvey

Senior Engineer Jeff Helvey, P.E., has been selected to lead the Solid Waste Services Division at Bunnell Lammons Engineering (BLE). As BLE’s Director of Solid Waste Services, Mr. Helvey will oversee all technical projects, staffing, and administration of services serving the Solid Waste industry. Primary service areas include hydrogeological and geotechnical studies for landfill siting, expansions and permit renewals as well as environmental monitoring, geotechnical consulting for landfill stability and soil management, liner Electrical Leak Location services, construction quality assurance for cell, closure and landfill gas systems, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) compliance. The service area covers the Southeastern United States.

“Naming Jeff as Director of Solid Waste Services is an acknowledgment of his leadership, years of hard work, and intentional development of his capabilities as he has grown into this role,” said Dan Bunnell, P.E., Principal and President of BLE. “This promotion is the result of his planned professional path with the company that we have been working towards over the last several years.”

Mr. Helvey began his career with BLE more than 20 years ago, adding value to the company year over year. His dedication to advancing BLE’s offerings is demonstrated through his development of the Electrical Leak Location (ELL) service line for BLE’s Solid Waste Division, providing oversight of over 5 million square feet of ELL projects to date. This service allows for the detection of leaks in a liner on a landfill, pond, or wastewater basin and is critical to establish and ensure liner integrity.

Mr. Helvey received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University in 2000 and is a registered Professional Engineer in 10 Southeastern states as well as Wyoming, Delaware, and Maryland.
